Photography Homepage in 10 Minutes – Part 2

If you remember, a few months ago I introduced you to my homepage template. Back then it was already fully functional and my complete homepage was based on it. But the video and blog post I did back then was mostly focused on laying the foundations, on how to set everything up and get a portfolio page up and running.

Now, finally it’s time to fill in the gaps and let you know how to further customize a homepage built with this template and also on how to add a WordPress blog, which seamlessly integrates with the rest of the page – just as you see here.

As I explain in the video I also added new functionality to the template. For example, a google custom search can now be easily activated. And also the visual customization capabilities have been improved. Using Sass variables the colors of the page can now be changed in a central place. In the video I also show how the individual components of the page can be adapted.

My hopes with making this template open source and sharing it with you are to get some feedback and suggestions. If you find something you’d like to have improved or if you have experience with SEO, just write me an email. Maybe we can collaborate to further improve the template.
