New Zealand - South Island

Gallery Info

The landscape of the New Zealand's South Island is even more diverse than the North Island. The Southern Alps run like a chain through the island and thus create strong contrasts in weather and vegetation. There is abundant rainfall along the wild west coast and thus almost jungle-like forests. You can also find glaciers here that almost reach sea level. East of the mountains, on the other hand, the landscape presents itself in warmer tones and it's much drier. On both sides of the Alps there is a great variety of photo subjects to discover.
