The Stubai Valley is an alpine paradise known for its majestic glaciers. In winter, those offer wonderful skiing opportunities, while in summer, the numerous hiking trails invite exploration of the Stubai mountains on foot.
When I visited the area to capture this photo, summer had just started in the mountains. Above 2000 meters, it was still cold, and patches of snow were frequent. I climbed to a viewpoint above the Rinnensee at around 2600 meters to take this photo on a stormy evening. The night afterward was spent in freezing temperatures close to the lake - an unforgettable experience.
