Nestled in the German Alps, the Rappensee is a hidden gem that embodies the beauty of alpine landscapes. Located near Oberstdorf, this pristine mountain lake enchants visitors with its refreshing waters and awe-inspiring surroundings.
The journey to Rappensee is a treat for nature lovers and hikers. As you traverse the alpine trails, lush meadows dotted with wildflowers guide you stedily up the mountain toward the Rappensee Hut, where you can spend the night.
Arriving at Rappensee, you are greeted by a sight that is nothing short of magical. The tranquil lake reflects the grandeur of the surrounding mountains, creating a mirror-like surface that shimmers in the sunlight. Peaks tower above, their harsh, rocky summits contrasting with the vibrant greens of the valley.
During my visit a couple of years ago, I was very fortunate with the light during sunset. Above the lake in the hills I found a beautiful vantage point from wich I could capture the essence of the place in this photographic fineart print.
